About Lisa Pryor
A therapist for clients who speak in stories, songs, games, and characters.
Lisa blends clinical experience with a casual, creative style that helps teens and young adults feel understood without needing to translate themselves first.
The idea that would not go away
Pop Culture Counseling started as a name that kept popping up.
When Lisa first started thinking about private practice, the name Pop Culture Counseling kept coming to mind. It felt too obvious to be available, but it was — and here we are.
Lisa identifies as a Disney Adult, Potter Head, and all-around geek. She is fluent in video game terms, Disney song lyrics, and light saber colors.
Mission statement
Meet clients where they are, then build from what they love.
Pop Culture Counseling uses evidence-based modalities such as DBT, CBT, and experiential learning, along with pop culture, geek speak, and media to better teach therapeutic concepts.
